AT&Ts ads will not appear on Facebook’s trending topic pages, according to a new statement from the company.AT&T and Facebook have both come under scrutiny in recent weeks for their controversial policy banning certain ads.
The companies both have recently been hit with lawsuits.
In an internal memo, AT&ts Vice President of Advertising Mark O’Connell wrote that the company is committed to its community, and it has a “robust” advertising policy.
It also said Facebook’s policy is in line with the guidelines for Facebook.
“As we work to better support our communities, we have decided to take this step,” the company wrote.
Facebook has not publicly commented on the matter.
AT&t did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
